Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Sirajul Haq, on Thursday, called on the Jamiat e Uleme Islam( F) chief, Maulana Fazlur Rahman, in Islamabad and discussed with him the current political situation in the country.
JI Secretary General, Liaqat Bloch and JI deputy chief Mian Muhammad Aslam, accompanied the JI chief.
Talking to the media after the meeting, Sirajul Haq expressed deep concern over the turbulent situation in the federal capital. He warned the government and the protesting parties that if they did not resolve the issues through dialogue, both of them would have to go home and history would repeat itself. He said that the country had already faced military rules thrice.
The JI chief said that most of the PTI’s demands were the voice of the general public. The entire nation supported the demand for making the electoral process transparent. He also agreed with the genuine demands of Dr Tahirul Qadri. He said that the term of the assemblies could be reduced in order to reach a peaceful solution. He said that all concerned would have to play their role for safeguarding the country, the constitution and the democratic system
He urged the government to facilitate the participants of the two marches as they were workers of political parties and not hostile armies. .
Maulana Fazlur Rahman, on the occasion, thanked the JI chief and his delegation for the visit.
