Lahore: Former secretary foreign affairs Shahar Yar Khan has been elected unopposed chairman PCB . He had already served PCB as chairman and manager cricket team.PCB governing board has confirmed that no candidate has submitted forms against him.
A Special Meeting of the Board of Governor (BoG) chaired by Justice (Retd) Muhammad Sair Ali under Paragraph 7 (2) & (3) of the PCB Constitution 2014.
Justice Sair Ali immediately notified the election and handed over the charge of office to Mr. Shaharyar M. Khan at 04:00 p.m.
Other than Shaharyar Khan and the outgoing acting Chairman Justice Sair Ali, the following members attended the Special BoG meeting: former Chairman Mr Najam Sethi, Mr. Shakil Sheikh (Islamabad), Mr Gul Zada (Peshawar), Prof ejaz Faruqi (Karachi), Mr. Iqbal Qasim (NBP), Mr. Amjad Latif (SNGPL), Mr. Mansoor Masood Khan (UBL) and Mr. Yosuf Nasim Khokhar (WAPDA).
In the subsequent BoG meeting chaired by Shaharyar M. Khan, his appointment as chairman PCB was unanimously endorsed by the newly constituted BoG. Amongst other decisions Mr. Ahmad Shehzad Farooq Rana was appointed as Deputy Election Commissioner PCB in accordance with the Board’s constitution 2014.
