Lahore: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday inaugurated newly reconstructed Ziarat residency where founding father Quaid-e-Azam spent his last days.Governor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai, Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik , Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif ,Molana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri and minister for information Pervaiz Rasheed also accompanied the prime minister.
The residency was destroyed by terrorists last year is restored to its original shape in a short span of four months with the cost of 150 million rupees.
On completion of this historical and significant building, the colors of Ziarat city are also returning and it will be opened for tourists and visitors very soon.
The Ziarat Residency is spread over 8000 square feet. Established by English Colonial rulers in 1861, the residency served as a resting place for the founding father of the nation. Located in the mountainous Ziarat valley, the residency is surrounded by thousands years old ancient juniper trees.
