Lahore: Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique has said that the month of August is of great importance in the history of Pakistani nation and it will be celebrated as “Independence Month”.
He said this while addressing a meeting of PML-N workers at Gulberg. He stressed upon the workers to hoist national flags from door to door for highlighting the importance of Independence Day among the people and pledge to render every sacrifice for the independence and development of the country.
Kh. Salman Rafique said that Pakistan was achieved on August 14, 1947 as a result of democratic struggle under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and its independence and prosperity is linked with democracy. He asked those talking about long march and revolution to take part in elections democratically and accept the mandate given by the people.
He said that the nation is standing with Pak army in the war against terrorists but some people are trying to endanger the stability of the country by creating hindrances in the process of development and prosperity. He said that the nation will not allow such elements to achieve their nefarious designs and every conspiracy against democracy and the country will be foiled.
