JSCD sent the second consignment of relief goods to Karak for the IDPs

JSCD sent the second consignment of relief goods to Karak for the IDPs Lahore: Jahandad Society For community Development (JSCD) has sent the second consignment of relief goods to Karak for the IDPs of North Waziristan. JSCD in collaboration with the Fata Disaster Management Authority FDMAand district government has established a Relief Camp at District secondary high school, Karak and has adopted 1,000 IDP families with around 9,000 members for a period of three months. Each of these families has been registered through the district government and JSCD is providing the required food and nonfood items on fortnightly basis in collaboration with AFJOG and Central Park Medical College, Lahore.

The above mentioned second consignment of relief items included four truck containing 45 tons of food items including Atta/Flour, Rice, Lentils, Ghee, Sugar, Tea, Powder Milk, Dates and Jam e Shirin, Liquid Milk, Basin, Mineral Water, Sawaiyan, Ration bags, Slanty and chips carton. The next fortnightly distribution of ration to the IDPs will be done on July 21, 2014.

JSCD has a long experience of providing relief during emergencies and disasters. JSCD remained at the forefront of relief activities during 2005 Earthquake, 2010 and 2011 floods in Punjab and Sindh, 2008 earthquake in Ziarat and 2009 IDPs of Swat. JSCD has made a donation appeal and requested the corporate sector and the people of Pakistan to generously donate so that the IDPs are hosted in the best possible ways.
