APCNGA grieved over Peshawar cylinder blast

Central Chairman APCNGA Pervaiz Khan KhattakLahore: The All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) on Monday expressed grief over the loss of lives in a blast that blast took place while a vehicle was filling Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) at a filling station situated on Ring Road.

It also hoped for the early recovery of the two people injured in the blast. Government should take all the possible steps to help the people and their families affected by this unfortunate incident, said Pervaiz Khan Khattak, Central Chairman APCNGA and Provincial Chairman Fayaz Khan.

In a joint statement issued here today, they said that all possible help should be extended to the families of the dead and speedy recovery of the injured must be ensured. They said that the reason behind blast was substandard cylinder which was also welded. A cylinder checking campaign was launched in Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa which ended prematurely because of the lack of interest of authorities.

APCNGA has heavily invested in workshops, training and introducing safety technologies but bureaucratic inertia frustrated all efforts, said Pervaiz Khattak. He said that federal and provincial governments should launch cylinder checking moves so that ration of incidents can be minimized.

Lack of awareness has paved way for many problems therefore government should embark on an awareness campaign, Khattak observed.
