Punjab Zakat & Ushr Department released 20 crore 42 lakh for needy pople

Malik Nadeem KamranLahore: Punjab Zakat & Ushr Department has released 20 crore 42 lakh and 28 thousand rupees to all districts of the province in connection with Ramazan and Eid grant and these amounts have received to the chairmen Zakat Committees of concerned districts and they are bound to distribute among the deserving within a week as many as two lakh four thousand two hundred and twenty eight deserving people will benefit from it.

Provincial Minister for Zakat & Ushr Malik Nadeem Kamran told this in a meeting held to review Ramazan and Eid grant, here today. Secretary Zakat & Ushr Habib-ur-Rehman Gillani, Administrator Zakat Muhammad Yosaf Butt and concerned officers were present in the meeting.

Secretary Zakat Habib-ur-Rehman while giving a report to the Minister regarding the amounts released to different division informed that Lahore division has been given Rs. 33,331,826, Gujranwala division Rs. 31,710,149, Faisalabad division Rs. 27,423,231, Rawalpindi division Rs. 18,473.761, Sargodha division Rs. 15,755,867, Sahiwal division Rs. 14,876,776, Multan division Rs. 23,433,815, Bahawalpur division Rs. 21,181,392 and D.G.Khan division Rs. 18,041,183.

The Minister stressed upon the officers to issue instructions to the chairmen and field officers of districts and local Zakat committees to distribute Eid grant among the deserving persons within a week and personally monitor all process. He warned that stern action will be taken against the persons without any discrimination found negligent in the transfer of Eid grant to the deserving people.
