People are responsible for their poor plight : Siraj ul Haq

JI LHR  Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Siraj ul Haq, has said that the people themselves were to be blamed for their poor plight as they votes for thugs and cheats ignoring the honest and sincere candidates.

Addressing the Friday congregation at Mansoora mosque, he said that a handful of plunderers and smugglers were holding the masses as hostages. They   were depriving the general public of basic needs while their pet dogs relished best food. There were separate laws and rules for the rich and the poor and the rulers were the biggest violators of the constitution.

The JI chief said that all over the world, a war was going on between the slaves of Prophet Muhammad PBUH) and the slaves of Obama. Unfortunately, the rulers looked towards Washington for help and guidance instead of the Holy Kaabah. And in fact, a war was going on between the slaves of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and the slaves of Obama.  He said the society stood divided in two groups, on one hand, there were tyrants who were united, while on the other hand, there were the oppressed people who were in disarray.

However, he said, it was high time for the masses to rise against the political pundits as the present system of loot and exploitation could not go on for ever.

Siraj ul Haq said that he would start a meet the people campaign after Eid ul Fitr with a people’s agenda in order to unite and organize the general public, and added that the people would have to rise above regional and sectarian biases so as to face the tyrants and thugs.

He said that all over the world, on national and religious festivals, the prices were slashed almost to a half. However, it was just the opposite in the country as our traders and businessmen doubled the prices to earn huge profits. Furthermore, he said, the Pakistan government, instead of providing any relief to the masses, had announced withdrawal of subsidy on electricity during the holy month of Ramazan as would push the electricity bill to the sky.

Later, addressing an Iftar dinner in the city, Sirajul Haq said that the rulers had completely failed to look after around eight lakh IDPS from North Waziristan who were stranded in different areas and were looking up to the heavens for help.

He said the country had been made a police state in the name of the Protection of Pakistan Act.
