Subsidy is the right of the people : Ombudsman Punjab, Javed Mahmood

Lahore: Ombudsman Punjab, Javed Mahmood, has taken notice of reports and news items, appeared in print and telecast on electronic media, about the mismanagement and maladministration in Ramazan Bazars. He has directed Advisors at all districts to visit Ramzan Bazars in their respective districts and send a report to Ombudsman Office. Recommendations, in the light of reports of Advisors will be submitted to the government for remedial measures, told the Ombudsman Punjab.

Javed Mahmood said that provincial government has allocated a record subsidy amount of Rs. 5 billions to provide daily use items to the people on subsidize rates during Ramazan. A record amount of subsidy is the right of the people which will be protected and the same will not be allowed to go waste due to the mismanagement of the concerned authorities, clarified the Ombudsman Punjab. During their visits to Ramazan Bazars, Advisors to Ombudsman Punjab will observe the prices, quality, supply and availability of fruits, vegetables and other daily use items. They will also look at the cleanliness, security and other arrangements made for the facilitation of the public in Ramzan Bazars, concluded the Ombudsman Punjab.
