Lahore: Provincial ministers visited various Ramadan Bazars in different cities and inspected supply, quality and rates there. The district administrations have been activated while provincial ministers and advisors have been assigned monitoring duties.
Provincial Minister for Cooperatives, Muhammad Iqbal Channar visited Ramadan Bazars at Melsi, Vehari and Burewala. He ordered sale of items on subsidized rates. The Minister ordered immediate action against the flour mills selling under-weight flour bags. On the occasion, the minister was told that district government Vehari is selling pulses to the masses five rupees less than the market price.
Provincial Minister for Industries, Ch. Muhamamd Shafiq visited Model Ramadan Bazar at Sahiwal and inspected sugar stall set up by the Industry Department. He also inquired from the people regarding availability of items, their rates and weights. DCO Sahiwal Dr. Sajid Mehmood told that chicken, mutton and beef are available at cheaper rates than the market.
Provincial Minister for Housing & Works Malik Tanvir Aslam Awan visited Ramadan Bazars at Gujrat, Lalamusa and Kharian. The Minister exchanged views with shopkeepers and buyers with regard to sale of vegetables, fruit and meat. He also inspected security arrangements at Ramadan Bazar.
Provincial Minister for Minerals, Ch. Sher Ali visited Ramadan Bazar at Pasrur and inspected supply of edibles besides checking their weights. Talking on the occasion, he said that overcharging will not be allowed. He said that profiteers and hoarders will be taken to task.
Special Assistant to CM Malik Salim Iqbal visited Ramazan Bazars at Singhpura, Shadbagh and Wahga Town. He directed market authorities that the flour bag should be sold to only one person and shopkeepers and owners of hotels and tandoors should not be allowed to take undue benefit of subsidy. He directed to remove the stalls of poor quality vegetables, fruit and rice and best quality essential items should be brought in Ramadan Bazars.
