Pakistan cannot afford derailing of democracy through the politics of protests: Rana Mashud Ahmad

Lahore:  Provincial Minister for Law, Rana Mashud Ahmad Khan has said that the nation wants to ensure prosperity, peace and stability of the country by providing complete moral support to Pak Army in an operation against terrorists. He said that this is the defining moment of the history of country. He said that Pakistan cannot afford derailing of democracy through the politics of protests and sit-ins. He said that we have to convey the message to the world that Pakistani nation is united in ensuring elimination of terrorists.

He was addressing a press conference at 90-Shara-e-Quaid-e-Azam Lahore today. Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said that the country is in the state of war. He said that there are threat perceptions by terrorist attacks to the entire nation including Dr.Tahir ul Qadri, his companions as well as the rulers. He said that those people who want to create hindrances in the way of eliminating terrorism should think about the  people of the country. Provincial Law Minister said that Islamabad airport is also a very sensitive place and there are installations of Pakistan Air Force. Therefore,present government has decided not to leave its citizens on the mercy of terrorists and will go to every extent for their protection, he added.

Rana Mashud Ahmad Khan said that the government and the people will identify jointly those terrorists who have infiltrated in streets and mohallas of our cities. He said that the government has informed Pakistan Awami Tehrik leadership about its strategy for coping with the threats of terrorism and providing security to the people on the arrival of Dr. Tahir ul Qadri at Islamabad airport as the protection of life and property of Dr. Tahir and his colleagues is also dearer to it.

Rana Mashud Ahmad Khan said that on the arrival of Dr. Tahir Qadri in Pakistan, the government will act upon the existing standard operative procedures in accordance with the law and the constitution in letter and spirit. He said that the elements desirous of creating political unrest in the country are, in fact,against its prosperity and stability. Their main objective is to derail the democracy but people will not let them to do so and foil all nefarious designs by fully supporting their brave army jawans who are engaged in the defense of the country in this hour of trial and are fighting on forefronts to accomplish the great mission of purging the country of terrorists.
