Lahore: Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said that military operation would not bring peace in tribal areas, therefore, the problems of the area should be resolved through political and economic means.
Talking to the tribal people attending the JI central workshop at Mansoora, he stressed upon the government to ensure constitutional rights to the tribal people and provide them facilities of education, health transport, employment and justice. Local government institutions should be set up in tribal area and they should be given all civic facilities, he added. The missing persons of the area should be recovered and the power of resistance of the tribal people against the enemy should be strengthened by making the dialogue a success, he added.
Liaqat Baloch said that the tribal people had their distinct history, culture and philosophy of life. The tribal people did not love aggression. They were true Muslims and patriotic Pakistanis and were preachers of brotherhood and peace. They were capable of resolving biggest and complicated issues through dialogue or Jirga.
He said in spite of worst conditions during the last fifteen years, the tribal peoples’ love for Islam and Pakistan had not diminished and even today, they felt pride in laying down their lives for the country.
He said that the terrorists and the anti social elements were the enemies of not only the tribal people but the 180 million Pakistanis.
