Lahore: Ombudsperson Punjab, Mira Phailbus, in a major move towards creating awareness regarding harassment of women at work place has stressed upon major government and private departments to display the poster depicting harassment at work place at conspicuous places in the organizations.
Mira Phailbus in a letter written to all secretaries of provincial departments, DCOs, all heads of government and private banks and all presidents of Chamber of Commerce and Industry has urged the top management to create congenial working environment free from harassment for working women.
Ms Phailbus also called upon the highest ranking executives to ensure the placing the code of conduct for protection against harassment of working women along side the poster in a prominent place in the organizations under their control.
Ombudsperson’s initiative is aimed at creating awareness among working women and men about workplace harassment. This step will create confidence among working women that they are protected at workplace and at the same time it will act as deterrence in case of women harassment.
The office of Ombudsperson Punjab is working devotedly to create awareness regarding harassment of women at workplace and to provide justice to the working women who face sexual harassment at work place.
