Lahore: National Economic Council approves funds for construction of dams and mega hydel power projects. National Economic Council (NEC) has approved 2025 Programme at its meeting in Islamabad on Thursday.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, chairing the meeting, said it is a visionary strategy for development and would ensure best possible utilization of the resources of the country.He said the federal government will complete the project of provision of potable water in Gwadar.
The meeting also approved funds for construction of dams and mega hydel power projects under Public Sector Development Program.
The Prime Minister directed that work on developmental projects in FATA should be expedited.
The Prime Minister directed that initial report of generation of power through solar panels in Balochistan should be prepared. It approved several projects including Diamer-Bhasha, Neelum-Jhelum, Checho Ki Malian Power Project, Golen Gol Chitral Power Project and Karachi Coastal Power.The meeting also approved funds for Tarbela Dam Extension-IV project.
It also approved construction of cancer hospitals in all the four provincial headquarters, Islamabad, FATA, Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.
The meenting was briefed about different developmental projects.
