Lahore: Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium Peter Claes, visited the office of Punjab Board of Investment & Trade (PBIT)and held talks with Minister Industries Punjab Ch. Muhammad Shafique and PBIT high ups to increase trade relations between two countries.
The Ambassador was accompanied by Trade Commissioner, Embassy of Belgium, Abid Husain and Laurent Paquet.
Minister Industries Punjab, Ch. Muhammad Shafique was present during the meeting on behalf of the Chief Minister Punjab. Director General Projects, Policy & Research, Ali Naveed Pirzada briefed the Ambassador about the functions and workings of PBIT.
The Ambassador of Belgium, Peter Claes was of the view that Pakistan’s image abroad needed to be improved immediately and that it would play the key role in winning Belgian investor’s confidence. The Belgium envoy and Minister Industries both agreed on a mutually beneficial way forward to increase trade and investment between both countries.
The Trade Commissioner, Embassy of Belgium, briefed the meeting about the different trade enhancement opportunities between both countries and stressed the need for a proactive approach.
The meeting ended with the exchange of souvenirs between the Ambassador of Belgium and the Minister Industries.
Director Projects PBIT Dr. Suhail Saleem, Additional Director Corporate Finance Muhammad Ali Shah and Deputy Manager Investor Relations Sheharyar Rana were also present on this occasion.
