Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that setting up of a textile park with an investment of 200 billion rupees in M-III Industrial Estate Faisalabad with the collaboration of Chinese industrialists is the starting point of the journey towards progress and prosperity.
The Chief Minister was addressing as chief guest the foundation stone laying ceremony of Ruyi Masood Textile Park with the collaboration of the 5th biggest textile group of China at M-III Industrial Estate Faisalabad today.
Coal power plants of 270 megawatt are also being established at Ruyi Masood Textile Park. Provincial Minister for Law and Local Government Rana Sanaullah Khan, Minister for Industry Chaudhry Muhammad Shafique, Chairman FIEDMC Kh. Asim Khursheed, Chairman Shangdong Ruyi Textile Group Yafu Qiu, Chinese and local industrialists as well as members of national and provincial assembly were also present on the occasion.
He said that establishment of a textile park at this barren land of Faisalabad will not only promote textile sector but also strengthen national economy. He said that due to this textile park, modern technology and technical skill will also be transferred to Pakistan.
He said that government is striving for elimination of energy crisis and due to its efforts load-shedding will be completely eliminated from the country while electricity will be available in abundance for trade and industrial activities. He said that there is no dearth of resources in Pakistan and a bright future is waiting for Pakistan.
Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that due to strong friendly relations between Pakistan and China and the growing cooperation between the two countries in economic and industrial sector, foundation stone of a large textile park is being laid in a barren area of Faisalabad which is the result of personal interest taken by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. He said that the setting of this park will generate lakhs of job opportunities while exports will also increase substantially and a new era of progress and prosperity will usher in. He said that Pak-China friendship is higher than Himalayas, deeper than ocean, sweeter than honey and stronger than steel and the deep-rooted relations of friendship between the two countries will turn into economic revolution.
The Chief Minister said that due to setting up of the textile park in Faisalabad, modern technology will also become available to Pakistan as Ruyi Textile Group has a prominent place in garments, marketing, technology and export sectors at international level. He said that coal power plants of 270 megawatts being established in the textile park will bring about a revolution in industrial sector and also motivate other Pakistani industrialists. He said that Nandipur Power Project will also start operating within next few days. It is lamentable that this power plant kept rusting at Karachi port for three years due to criminal negligence and selfish interests of the former rulers, he added.
However, he said, present government has revived and completed this project within only seven months due to commitment and sincerity. He said that Pakistan’s journey towards progress and development is continuing and it will be transformed in accordance with the vision of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal.
Chief Executive Masood Textile Ch. Shahid Nazir said that collaboration of the prominent textile group of China is an honor due to which modern technology will be transferred to Pakistan. He thanked Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and said that due to their tireless efforts and exemplary measures, the dream of industrial progress is turning into reality.
He said that due to industrial collaboration between China and Pakistan in this big project investment of 200 billion rupees will be made in this mega project of weaving, spinning, printing and garments and 35 thousand new job opportunities will be created.
Chairman FIEDMC Kh. Asim Khursheed said that due to business-friendly policies of present government, new avenues of progress in industrial estates sectors have been opened and the huge investment by a big textile group of China reflects its confidence in the present leadership of Pakistan due to which the vision of making Pakistan an Asian Tiger will be realized.
He said that a modern and international standard infrastructure is being provided by FIEDMC in M-III Industrial Estate due to full cooperation of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. He said that establishment of textile park is the result of the personal efforts of Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.
Chairman Shandong Ruyi Group Yafu Qiu said that his group is making investment of billions of dollars in 11 countries of the world. He also appreciated revolutionary leadership and development strategy of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and said that their cooperation and patronage has paved the way for investment.
Charge d’affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan Yang Wang said that setting up of the textile park will create more opportunities of investment in industrial sector as Pakistan has an important place in cotton production in the world.
