Hatiqa Razvi initiates golden scholarship for GCU students

GCULahore: Hatiqa Dabeer Razvi Wednesday donated rupees one million to the Government College University, Lahore Endowment Fund Trust (GCU EFT) for initiating a golden scholarship in the name of his late father, ‘N. A. Rizvi’.  Hatiqa Razvi handed over rupees one million to Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman at a graceful ceremony held in the university. GCU EFT Executive Committee Secretary Dr Khalid Manzoor Butt and the donor’s brother, Brig (r) Dabeer Rizvi, were also present.

Hatiqa Dabeer Razvi told the Vice Chancellor that his father N. A. Rizvi had studied from Government College, Lahore in early 1930s and had a great love for his alma mater. He retired from police as inspector general.

The Vice Chancellor expressed gratitude and said that it was the third golden scholarship donated by the family.

Earlier, Brig (r) Dabeer Rizvi and his son had initiated two golden scholarships. Prof Khaleeq said that the ‘N. A. Rizvi Golden Scholarship’ would be given to a financially-challenged student every year on merit.
