Lahore: Malaysian Minister for Religious Affairs Haji Abdul Malik Qaseem has said that Punjab is the strategic partner of Malaysia and all possible steps are being taken for enhancing trade volume with it. He said this while addressing the concluding session of 3rd International Halal Conference & Expo 2014 and talking to media today.
He said, no doubt, Pakistan produces Halal products, that is why, it was priority of Malaysia to do trade with Pakistan for Halal products and he himself participates in all programmes regarding Halal products in Pakistan. He said that Agriculture Minister is also accompanying him for exploring the opportunities in agriculture. He also congratulated Punjab Halal Development Agency for successfully holding Halal Conference.
Penang Agriculture Minister Dr. Afif Bin Bahar Din was of the view that Malaysia wants to work jointly with Pakistan in agriculture and livestock technology. He said that there are vast opportunities for the development of livestock sector in Pakistan.
Chairman Punjab Halal Development Agency Justice Khalil-ur-Rehman said that economic problems of the country can be solved by promoting livestock sector. He said that raw material for Halal products can be obtained from livestock. He said that the country can provide raw material for Halal products to the entire world. He said that the International Halal Conference will leave positive impact on the entire meat industry.
Later, a 17-member delegation also visited Lahore Meat Processing Complex where they witnessed slaughtering of animals through modern methods.
