Lahore: The Punjab Education Foundation has launched expansion phase 12 of its education voucher scheme (EVS) in the districts of Faisalabad, Muzaffargarh, Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur.
During this expansion phase, deserving students of these districts will be offered free educational facilities in private schools partnered under EVS with the foundation. PEF will provide assistance in shape of monthly grants and free text books to EVS partner schools.
Chairman Punjab Education Foundation Raja Anwar stated this while talking to a 20 member delegation of PEF partner schools at his residence today. Due to this expansion phase, more deserving students will be able to get gratis educational facilities near to their homes. It’s an important step towards promoting free education in the disfranchised sections of the society. He told that EVS is designed for the poor and needy students for giving them free education in schools of choice.
This program also has proved very effective in promoting girls education as girls can study in nearby schools and they are not burdened to go far-off schools on public transport, concluded Raja Anwar.
