A Special Tribunal for redressal of service matters of judicial officers constituted

Governor Punjab cj muhammad sarwarLahore: On the recommendations of the Chief Justice of Lahore High Court, Justice Umar Ata Bandial, the Governor of Punjab has constituted a Special Tribunal for redressal of service matters of judicial officers of the Province on an urgent basis.

The Tribunal is headed by Justice Muhammad Farrukh Irfan Khan while  Justice Abdus Sattar Asghar and  Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti are its members.

The  Special Tribunal on Monday heard 52 appeals filed by the judges of district judiciary. It disposed off 19 matters, issued notices to the respondent Lahore High Court in five appeals and sought reply.

While dismissing all petitions for early hearing, the Tribunal ruled that all such appeals will be heard on the principle of first in first out basis.

The applicants, District & Sessions Judges, Additional District & Sessions Judges and Senior as well as Civil Judges have filed these petitions regarding their grievances including compulsory retirement from service, adverse remarks entered in their annual confidential reports, proforma promotion etc.

The Special Tribunal has decided to assemble on every Friday in future for hearing of such appeals.
