SAL restored Pakistan’s soft image: Raja Ashfaq Sarwar

Ministers Labour Raja Ashfaq Sarwar 1Lahore: Provincial Minister for Labour Raja Ashfaq Sarwar has said that labour issues are being included in the agenda of SAARC Organization permanently for adopting a joint strategy for identifying the problems of workers and their resolution at regional level.

He said that Punjab government has not only provided a platform for the welfare of the labourers of South Asian countries by organizing first South Asia Labour Conference but also promoted solidarity and harmony among all stakeholders at regional, national and provincial level.

He said this while addressing a function held in honour of those showing best performance in South Asia Labour Conference. Acting President Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry Kashif Anwar, Country Director ILO Pakistan Francisco, Assembly Members, Secretary Labour Capt. Retd Muhammad Yousaf, Commissioner Social Security Farhan Aziz Khawaja, DG Protocol, senior officers of district administration, Labour and other departments attended the function.

Raja Ashfaq Sarwar said that a follow up cell has been set up for ensuring implementation on the points of joint revolution issued by the countries participated in South Asia Labour Conference. He said that positive image of Pakistan has been restored through this conference. Country Director ILO Francisco said that the agreement on protection of rights of labourers, provision of facilities of social security, enforcement international standards and conventions, labour migration and other important matters in South Asia Labour Conference will leave positive impact. He congratulated Labour Minister for holding this conference successfully.

Raja Ashfaq Sarwar gave away performance shields and commendatory certificates to officers, officials and assembly members for making this conference successful.
