JUP NIAZI takes out ISI solidarity rally

jup rallyLahore:  Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (Niazi) took out rally on Friday to show solidarity with the armed forces and the ISI, demanding implementation of ethics of media in letter and spirit.

The participants of the rally outside Lahore Press Club under the leadership of JUP Niazi President Peer Syed Muhammad Masoom Hussain Naqvi chanted slogans in support of the defense institutions and condemned malicious campaign of a private media group for leveling baseless attack charges on senior anchor Hamid Mir without any evidence and prior to thorough investigation.

Holding placards, banners, party flags and portraits of Army Chief General Raheel Sharif in their hands, the JUP workers demanded to implement the ethics of media.

Addressing the rally Peer Masoom Naqvi said freedom of press was pivotal in democratic states and impartiality was its prerequisite. “The freedom of press was never given by the rulers easily, but was got through sacrifices of the working journalists.

However, where freedom of expression and press are guaranteed by the Constitution, the basic democratic right should be used with responsibility,” the JUP Niazi chief said.
