Sirajul Haq commended the Army Chief ’s statement on Kashmir

sirajul haqLahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Siraj ul Haq, has said that the liberation of Kashmir is the writing on the wall and the need of the hour was to frame a solid and comprehensive policy to achieve the goal.

He said this at a meeting with a delegation of the Kashmir American Council headed by its president Dr Imtiaz Butt, in Islamabad on Tuesday.

JI, Azad Kashmir chief Abdur Rashid Turabi, convener, All Parties Hurriyat Conference Ali Gilani group, Ghulam Muhammad Safi and other Kashmiri leaders were also present.

The delegation apprised the JI Ameer of Kashmir American Council’s endeavours  to acquaint US policy makers and foreign missions with the Kashmir liberation movement.

The delegation lauded JI’s efforts s for the Kashmir cause. It expressed its gratitude to the Pakistani nation for its all out support for the liberation of Kashmir. However, it said that the role of the Pakistan government was decisive, and expressed the hope that the government would fully back the Kashmiris’ struggle for resolving the Kashmir issue in the light of the UN resolutions.

At the meeting, the JI Ameer paid tributes to eminent Kashmiri leader Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai for highlighting the Kashmir issue at the international level.

Sirajul Haq said the Kashmiris were struggling for their rights. He said that for the JI, Kashmir was not simply a political issue, it was a matter of faith for them.

He said that the world community had made a commitment with the Kashmiris for the grant of the right to self determination and even the US and Europe were a party to this commitment.

Siraj ul Haq commended the Army Chief Gen. Raheel Sharif’s statement on Kashmir and said this was the voice of the entire nation. He was confident that Pakistan would be out of trouble during the year 2014 after which she would be in a position to play its due role for Kashmir’s liberation.
