Rigging masters should be subjected to article-6: Imran Khan

Imran Khan 06-05-14 Imran Khan 6-05-14Lahore: PTI Chairman Imran Khan has said that those involved in rigging the last election should be subjected to article-6.

He was talking to media representatives during his visit to a local PTI leader here on Tuesday night. PTI leader said that only free and fair elections were the real safeguard of the democracy.Chairman Imran Khan said that on May 11 the PTI will present charter of demands, which will help in strengthening democracy in the country and bring transparency in general elections.

While addressing the party workers Chairman PTI Imran Khan maintained that the demonstration in Islamabad is not aimed at derailing democracy or destabilize the government; they are only seeking justice against poll rigging and securing the future for coming generations. He stated that they have no intention of spreading anarchy in the country; they are only demanding justice and will not surrender till they get justice.

Imran Khan said that the struggle for ‘change’ will restart on May 11 from D-Chowk (Islamabad). He averred that the PTI is not launching the movement to gain government, but to strengthen Pakistan. “Those who think that the tsunami has died down will be shocked to see a huge crowd on May 11 and the movement of change will not end till a real change takes place in the country,” he added.

He demanded that the people responsible for stealing the people’s mandate should tried under Article 6 for treason.

He observed that true democracy does not exist in the country; in fact an artificial democratic system prevails, in which people without a mandate are in government. He categorically stated that the PTI will never accept the rigging took place during the 2013 general elections. He averred that his party only demanded investigation of only four constituencies, but they were denied justice.

PTI Secretary General Jehangir Khan Tareen, PTI President Punjab Ejaz Ahmed Chaudhry, PTI General Secretary Punjab Dr. Yasmin Rashid, PTI President Lahore Aleem Khan, PTI Candidate Hamid Zaman, MNA Mian Aslam Iqbal, MPA Sadia Sohail and other PTI Office bearers and workers were also present.
