Madrissahs are the fortresses of Islam:Acting Ameer, Jamaat e Islami

Lahore: Acting Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Liaqat Baloch, has said that the Madrissahs were the fortresses of Islam and their students were the guardians of Pakistan’s geographical and ideological borders, therefore any restrictions on these would not be tolerated.

He was addressing the graduation ceremony of the Jamia Markaz e Islamia Mansoora, on Monday.   Maulana Abdul Ma’lik, president of the Rabita tul Madaris al Islamia, also addressed the ceremony.

Liaqat Baloch said that the services of the religious scholars and elders for the country were unforgettable. The madrissahs were imparting religious teachings and promoting Muslim brotherhood and tolerance. He said that the US an the western countries were unjustifiably labeling the madrissah as breeding ground of terrorists whereas Islam and the madrissah had nothing to do with terrorism.

On the other hand, the US and its allies were responsible for disturbing world peace. He said that the tribal people were the sword arms of Pakistan. He said there was no threat to Pakistan from the western border, on the other hand, the eastern border of the country remained insecure.

The acting Ameer of the JI said that the IMF and World Bank loans were not without strings but were meant to tighten the yoke of slavery on the country and the nation and a threat to the country’s sovereignty.

Maulana Abdul Ma’lik said, it was the brainchild of the US and western mind to link terrorism with Islam whereas Islam actually is the religion of peace and love.
