We want British government cooperation in energy, education and health :CM Punjab

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that overseas Pakistanis will soon receive good news from Pakistan and by the grace of Allah Almighty, cooperation of people and hard work we will succeed in overcoming problems like terrorism and load-shedding.

He was addressing overseas Pakistanis and PML-N workers after reaching London today. Shahbaz Sharif said that hundreds of overseas Pakistanis from all over the world by participating in first Overseas Pakistanis Convention held in Punjab has proved their love for the motherland. He said that Pakistanis living abroad are great ambassadors of the country.

He said that the recommendations and suggestions regarding problems of overseas Pakistanis received in first overseas Pakistani convention will be implemented in letter and spirit. He said that Punjab government has decided to set up a commission at provincial level for redressal of problems of overseas Pakistanis. He said that PML-N government has accorded top priority to solution of their problems.

The Chief Minister said that the key objective of his visit to Britain is to promote cooperation with British government in energy, education and health sectors. He said that international institutions have expressed satisfaction and lauded the achievements made in the field of education in Punjab. He said that PML-N government has great respect for overseas Pakistanis and appreciates their role in national development.

British Minister for International Development Justin Greening has lauded the steps taken by the government of Punjab under the leadership of Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for skill development and improvement of education sector.

She said that serious efforts are being made in these sectors and the resources are used in the right direction. She said that performance of Punjab government is a role model and in view of it, these programmes are expanded on the basis of high standard set by the Punjab government.

British Minister for International Development while appreciating the efforts of Shahbaz Sharif in this regard said that best results have been yielded in these two sectors due to his personal interest and the passion with which work has been done in skill development and education field in Punjab will be continued.

She said that British Department for International Development will continue its cooperation with Punjab government in future as well. Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif thanked the British Minister on appreciating the measures of Punjab government.
