Journalist Panel wins the Punjab Assembly press gallery elections

Lahore: Journalist Panel have won the Punjab Assembly press gallery elections 2014-15 with clear margin.Punjab Assembly press gallery elections were held today at PA cafeteria under the supervision of senior journalist and chief election commissioner Hamid Riaz Dogar .

Journalist Panel’c candidate Syed Adnan Farooq and Mian Aslam defeated the Progressive Panel’s with unprecedented margin and taken approximately double votes against their competitors. Presidential candidate Adnan Farooq took 37 where as  his opponent Hussain Kashif could bagged 19 votes. Secretary candidate Mian Aslam got 38 and the other candidate Ali Akbar had the trust of 18 voters . 

As the Election Commissioner announced the result ,the voters and the journalist panel’s supporter shouted slogans from their throat in favour of their group and congratulated each other over their victory.

At the occasion,both panels leadership was presented.

Meanwhile,Journalist Panel’s president Arshad Ansari have congratulated the winners and  said the journalist community have trusted the elected the right people to resolve their issues.He hoped that newly elected body would take together all the members without any discrimination and would play their role to resolve the journalists problems.

On the other hand,Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Muhammad Iqbal,PML_Q president Ch Shujaat Hussain,former deputy prime minister Ch Pervaiz Elahi,MPA Moonis Elahi,CM Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif,Minister for Law Rana Sana have congratulated the newly elected office bearers of Punjab Assembly press gallery .
