Open holes take lives of two kids in the city

ZainLahore: Open holes have taken lives of two kids in the city today. It was said that two and half years old Zain and seven years old Manahil were playing outside their homes when they suddenly fallen in open holes.On the hue and cry of passer byes ,people rushed to the spot and tried their best to save the lives of ill fated kids but they could only taken out their bodies.Residents of the area have alleged that WASA authorities are responsible for the deaths of two innocent kids .

MD WASA Dr Javaid Iqbal has suspended four officers including WLI Gulam Sarwar,SE Rana Atif,SDO Farrakhabad Imtiaz Goraya and SDO Shahid Ramzan for showing criminal negligence , chargesheeted EXN Abdul Manan and ordered to submit report Director Asghar Bhalli. MD WASA also constituted a inquiry committee comprising of Dir. P & E Shakil Ahmad Kashmiri ,Dir.Admin Muhammad Irfan to find the facts of the incidents and to fix the responsibility on the companies having contract for covering holes. Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of the news of the death of a child aging two and a half years by falling in an open manhole at Shahdara and sought an immediate report from the administration. The Chief Minister ordered strict legal action against the persons responsible of it. He also expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the death of the child.     

Meanwhile ,DCO Lahore Dr Ahmad Javaid Qazi along with PML-N secretary general Lahore MPA Kh Imran Nazir visited the grieved families and condoled the deaths of 2-1/2 Zain and 7 years old Manahil with their parents in Farrukhabad, Shahdara and announced financial aid of five lakh each for bereaved families.

DCO Lahore Ahmad Javaid Qazi also constituted a inquiry committee comprising of ADCG Lahore Asfand Yar Baloch and  EDO works and services Lahore, to fix the responsibility of the incident .
