Government performance is disappointing despite tall claims: Liaqat Baloch

Siraj ul Haq 27-4-14Lahore: Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said the one year performance of the government was disappointing and the plight of the general masses had worsened during this period despite rulers’ tall claims and announcements.

Talking to Syed Muneer Husain Gilanji and Qari Yaqub Sheikh at  Mansoora, he said that the people were fed up with the slogans and claims of the rulers as practically no steps had been taken to overcome price hike, poverty, unemployment, load shedding.

The man in the street could not even dream of the facilities of health, education for children. In spite of the fall in the dollar value, the prices of atta, pulses, etc. had not come down.

A tiny elite class was enjoying all the facilities of life while the teeming millions were without simple bread. Liaqat Baloch said that corruption in the state institutions had increased and the promises of the PML(N) leaders for bringing the corrupt to accountability  remained a dream.

The JI Secretary General said that the unity of the Muslim Ummah could pave way for world peace and love and development. He said the world colonialism under the garb of capitalism had failed while the idols of socialism and secularism and liberalism had also perished. Humanity was in search of peace and Islam alone could guarantee that.

The world today needed a international system founded on the teachings of the Quran and the Sunnah. He said if the true leadership in the country, the Ulema united on national priorities and a national agenda, most of the problems of the nation could be resolved and the conspiracies to divide the nation in groups and factions could be foiled.
