Shahbaz Sharif presides over public sector management reforms meeting

CM PUNJAB Shahbaz Sharif 23-4-14Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that government departments will have to improve their performance for provision of best services to the people. He said that such reforms would be introduced as could directly benefit the common man. He said that a spirit of public service and determination is necessary for coming up to the expectations of the people and provision of best services to the masses.

Additional Chief Secretary gave a briefing about public sector management reforms. Provincial Ministers Rana Sanaullah Khan, Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Tanvir Aslam Malik, Chief Secretary, Special Assistant to Chief Minister Azm-ul-Haq, Member Provincial Assembly Ayesha Ghaus Pasha, Chairman Planning & Development, secretaries and senior officers were present.

He was addressing a high level meeting with regard to public sector management reforms, here today. The meeting which lasted for more than four hours discussed various proposals for improving the performance of government departments.

The Chief Minister listened to the proposals of participants of the meeting patiently and also took notes.

On the occasion, Shahbaz Sharif termed the proposals of the participants regarding improvement of performance of government institutions as very positive and said that there is a need of evolving road map for implementation.

In his initial remarks, the Chief Minister said that we all have to work like a team for coming up to the expectations of the people at all cost. He said that it is a challenge for us. Participants of the meeting said that the Chief Minister has the ability to set the things right. However, they stressed the need for capacity building of government departments and assured the Chief Minister of their cooperation.

They said that the time spared by the Chief Minister for this important meeting reflects his determination for improving the living standard of the people of the province.
