Lahore: Hamza Shahbaz along with a delegation of PML-N members visited Hangshui town in Sichuan Province where the delegation was briefed about grass root party structure of the Communist Party of China. The party building at this town was shown to the delegation and the delegation also interacted with members of the local community.
A luncheon was hosted in the honour of the delegation by Tang Wenjin, the Vice Secretary General of the Communist Party of China Sichuan Province. Both sides discussed areas of mutual cooperation and discussed the current projects underway in Pakistan with Chinese collaboration.
Hamza Shahbaz Sharif while speaking at the occasion said that he was overwhelmed by the warmth and affection extended to him and his delegation by the Chinese Government and the Communist Party. He further stated that the Chinese investment of 30 billion US Dollars which was announced during Chief Minister Punjab’s recent visit to China will play a big role in the future prosperity of Pakistan and bringing the people of the two nations even closer.
Local farmers and people gathered at the office of Communist Party when they heard about the delegation from Pakistan. Members of the delegation mingled with the local farmers and asked them about their well being. The farmers chanted slogans of Pak-China friendship and told members of the delegation that they value friendship of the two nations deeply.
The delegation also visited Sichuan University and the Pakistan Study Center based at this University. The professors and senior university staff members briefed the delegation about the cooperation between the University with various Pakistani Universities including Punjab University and LUMS.
The delegation expressed gratitude to the University administration for taking such keen interest in Pakistan Studies and for enrolling Pakistani students at the University.
It may be mentioned that a 15- member delegation comprising young parliamentarians of Pakistan led by Hamza Shahbaz Sharif is currently visiting China on the invitation of Chinese ruling communist party.
