Shahbaz Sharif makes Secretary Housing & Public Health Engineering osd for delaying in Saaf Pani project

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that no delay will be tolerated in the implementation of Saaf Pani Project which is an important programme of public welfare.Provision of potable water to the poor masses is his commitment ,he added

The Chief Minister strongly reprimanded senior officials of NESPAK and Housing & Public Health Engineering Department for the slow pace of the project and said that they have neither the fear of Allah nor any commitment to public service. The Chief Minister issued orders for immediate posting of Secretary Housing & Public Health Engineering as OSD.

He was presiding over a high level meeting to review the pace of Saaf Pani Project, here today. The Chief Minister said that drinking water is the right of every citizen and depriving the poor people of potable water is a crime. He said that those who drink mineral water in their offices have shown sheer apathy to this project.

Meanwhile, Members Assembly from various districts called on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif here today and apprised him of the development projects in their respective areas. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that Punjab government is implementing a comprehensive programme of provision of relief to the people and development of the province.

Those who met the Chief Minister included Aslam Bodlah, Shaheen Shafiq, Awais Qasim Khan and Syed Tariq Yaqoob.

On the other hand, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that work will be carried out speedily on the project of setting up two coal power plants of 660 megawatt each in Sahiwal and Punjab government has constituted a project team for this purpose.

He was presiding over a high level meeting which reviewed the progress on two coal power plants project of 660 megawatt each in Sahiwal. MPA Pir Khizar Shah Khagga, Additional Chief Secretary Energy, Commissioner Sahiwal Division, DCO Sahiwal and concerned officials attended the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that agreement of two coal power project in Sahiwal has been given final shape with a consortium of Chinese companies. He said that two coal power plants project will be implemented speedily.

The Chief Minister said that feasibility report of coal power plants has been prepared. He said that this project will usher in a new era of development and prosperity of the area. He said that with the investment of 150 billion rupees not only economic activities will increase in Sahiwal but new job opportunities will also be created.

Shahbaz Sharif also constituted a cabinet committee to review progress and other matters relating to the project.
