Kh. Ahmed Hasaan planted a sapling at Sanitary Landfill Site

Khawaja Ahmed Hissan 09-04-14Lahore: Chairman Lahore Waste Management Company Kh. Ahmed Hasaan planted a sapling in connection with tree plantation campaign at Sanitary Landfill Site being prepared by LWMC for disposing of garbage on modern scientific lines.

Addressing on the occasion, Kh. Ahmed Hasaan said that this sanitary landfill site is the first modern environment friendly site in Pakistan which is being prepared on scientific lines. He said that this land site reflects the vision of Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif of green Punjab. He said that waste to energy, hospital waste management, waste recycling and RDF plants would be installed at this site. He said that at present one thousand ton waste is being used in cement factory whereas more cement factories groups are also expressing interest in it.

Kh. Ahmed Hasaan said that there are seven thousand plants at the site whereas one lakh more saplings will be planted tomorrow for providing healthy environment to the citizens.Khawaja Ahmed Hissan 9-04-14

Chairman LWMC paying rich tributes to Turkish government for extending cooperation said that this sanitary landfill site project is being completed under the supervision of Turk engineers at Lakhodher and its two cells have been completed.

Members National and Provincial Assembly Malik Pervaiz, Mehr Ishtiaq, Chaudhry Shahbaz Ahmad, Waheed Gull, MD Waseem Ajmal Chaudhry, Cartoonist Javed Iqbal, Analysts Iftikhar Ahmed, Najam Wali Khan, Turk Engineers and male and female students of the schools were present on the occasion.

Kh. Ahmed Hasaan said that a large number of trees at the site will help overcome pollution and foul smell. He directed that the existing dumping site at Mahmood Booti should be closed gradually and a beautiful park will be constructed here.
