Rana Mashud makes PSB position clear on Guinness World Records

Lahore: Administration of Guinness World Records has issued officials statement of 33 world records made in Punjab Youth Festival 2014 on its website and Levtie Ten Gabriel and Antolia Maria are officials witnesses.Minister sports addressing a press conference

After completion of process of ratification of the biggest human flag, it has formally been recognized as world record while remaining 32 world records have also been made by following SOPs of Guinness World Records and will be announced on website after completion of ratification.

This was stated by the Provincial Minister for Sports Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan during an emergent press conference at National Hockey Stadium, here today.

Director General Sports Punjab Usman Anwar was also present on the occasion.

Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan said that the official statement of the administration of Guinness World Records is a slap on the faces of those declaring the world records as fake. He said that only the anti-nation and anti-state elements tried to make these world records disputed while every patriotic was happy. He said that till now, more than 48 lakh people have participated in the Punjab Youth Festival 2014.

 Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan said that first time, 17 countries are going to participate in kabbadi tournament in America. He said that an American delegation is currently visiting Pakistan to invite kabbadi players from Punjab for participating in the tournament. He said that first time cricket experts of Britain are taking two cricket teams of Punjab with them for their further training at county cricket.

He informed that international sports segment of Punjab Youth Festival had been arranged after T20 World Cup at Bangladesh, however, India has requested to arrange this event in July in view of general elections. Likewise, Australia has requested to postpone this event till September due to sever summer season of Lahore.

Due to this, Punjab Sports Board has decided to hold first phase of competitions of International Sports segment right now and the second phase will be held in September 2014.
