Dumping funds of hospitals on jangla bus is no justice:Ch Parvez Elahi

ChPervezElahi1000Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi has said that dumping of funds of hospitals and schools into jangla bus service was no justice at all while children of the poor were today deprived of education and the people denied of medicines, Shahbaz Sharif should cite even one successful scheme of his as compared to our dozens of successful peoples welfare schemes and development projects.

Talking to a delegation of Muslim League leaders at his residence here, Ch Parvez Elahi said that the present rulers had sought votes on the promises of elimination, curbing and controlling of dearness, unemployment, load shedding, dacoities and thefts but they have effected many fold increase in all of these, helpless people were forced to commit suicides, situation in provincial capital was such that in govt hospitals people were losing their lives on account of getting no medicines, , in Lahore city itself 75 per cent of water was not fit for drinking, law and order situation was just out of control, in such a province wasteful expenditures like jangla bus service was not at all justified on which annual subsidy of Rs 60 billion will have to be incurred for plying buses on one route only in five cities and asked whether only bus service was the solution of the problems of helpless, sick and unemployed Punjab ?

He said further that we had started work in education, health and other sectors with positive thinking and vision which they had stopped, now lakhs of children were staying outside the schools, govt schools have been orphaned, education budget of Punjab was thrown in the air in the name of Daanish Schools, after claiming 25 schools they could establish only four schools and that too for the children of the rich, our “Parha Likha Programme” focus was on the poor girls and boys, if we were greedy about votes we would also have distributed lap tops but we wanted to improve and better the future, besides common children we had also provided ideal educational facilities to the handicapped, destitute and such children who had none to look after them, many facilities in the health sector were provided during our tenure for the first time in the history of Pakistan which included 1122 Service and best possible and quick health care facilities in the govt hospitals besides construction of new blocks and provision of free medicines, cardiac centers established for Multan and Faisalabad Divisions had become functional during our tenure but they did not make Wazirabad Cardiology Centre which was to provide facilities to the large number of people of 15 districts which has now been turned into shambles and its equipment and machinery taken away by dacoits and thieves, buildings of 42 colleges constructed during our tenure were still looking for the staff, instead of completion of multi-storeyed under construction 200 beds Surgical Tower in Mayo Hospital, they have demolished its two upper storeys while we had also made provision in it for air ambulance service.

He said that our established peoples’ welfare projects included treatment of fire burns patients plastic surgery in Pakistan first most modern centre of burn and reconstructive surgery, modern burn treatment and trauma centres in Multan, Faisalabad and Bahawalpur and burn units in all big govt hospitals of the province.
