Lahore: Pakistan’s largest three-day book fair organized by Punjab University administration has set a record of largest sale of books as over one hundred and 54 thousands books were sold in the three-day book fair.
In a press statement issued here on Sunday, PU VC Dr Mujahid Kamran said that the largest sale of books proved that study culture could be promoted in society if books were provided on reduced prices. He said that reading habits must be promoted in society for character building, to gain knowledge and polish creative skills. He said that steps must be taken at government level to provide books on low rates which would help promote knowledge in society.
He congratulated Chief Librarian Chaudhry Muhammad Hanif and heads of various book fair administrative committees. He lauded Chief Security Officer Col (r) Tanvir on efficient and strict security arrangements and Sanitory Inspector Mushtaq Masih for ensuring cleanliness at the fair.
