Security staff is deputed to eliminate the extortion mafia at Sahulat Bazars: Bilal Yaseen

Lahore: Minister for Food and Chairman Price Control Cabinet Committee Bilal Yasin has said that items of daily use have been made easily available in the markets, as a result of effective strategy and concrete steps taken by the government throughout the province. The Minister was presiding over a high level meeting held at civil secretariat, here today, during which Secretaries Agriculture, Food, Industries and Health, besides DG Punjab Food Authority were also present.

During the meeting, a detailed review was taken over government’s steps taken with regard to controlling inflation and ensuring availability of items of everyday use to the people.

The Provincial Minister directed DCOs to visit Sunday bazaars and Sahulat shops in the afternoons, instead of in the mornings, so that continuous monitoring of prices in Sahulat bazaars and Sunday bazaars can be ensured. He said that the prices of everyday items should be reviewed in the afternoon, but no compromise should be made on food quality.

Bilal Yasin said that security staff has been deputed to eliminate the extortion mafia, besides taking strong legal action against them. The meeting was informed that the latest technology has been introduced at petrol pumps to eliminate short measuring, due to which the citizens would get full petrol, along with ensuring its quality.
