Lahore: Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute and Ameer ud Din Medical College Prof. Anjum Habib Vohra has emphasized the doctors to aware patients about the preventive measures against seasonal diseases, symptoms and treatment and importance of cleanliness for being secure against dengue virus. He said that High Dependency units with modern machinery have been made fully prepared in the back drop of dengue return.
He expressed these views while presiding over a high level meeting at Lahore General Hospital. The meeting was attended by professors, Directors Emergency and outdoor, administrative doctors and nursing administration, who briefed the chair about the preparation against dengue at their end.
Prof. Anjum Habib Vohra stressed upon the nurses to always keep the patients’ history charts completed as they play basic role in the process of recovery of the patients. He also directed to ensure ample quantity of medicines in storage in order to combat seasonal diseases. Prof. Anjum Habib Vohra said that Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has a strong commitment to save masses from dengue and all the provincial departments are putting their best effort to CM’s noble cause. Especially professionals linked with health care system have their major role for eradication of dengue, he added.
He said that besides doctors and nurses, paramedics have also to play their important role in drive against dengue, therefore, it has been decided that more lectures would be arranged for paramedics by the end of current month. He said that training about dealing with dengue patients for every official of the hospital is being ensured. He also underlined the need to maintain cleanliness and drainage of water and said that MS, Additional MS and sanitary inspectors would have to discharge their duties efficiently.
