Lahore(10-03-2014): Second consignment of relief items including 5200 food hampers and 16000 bottles of mineral water worth Rs. 11.125 million have been sent to drought affectees of Thar through 15 trucks. President Pakistan Muslim League-N Lahore Pervaiz Malik MNA and Mehr Ishtiaq MPA dispatched these trucks under their supervision. Director General PDMA Muhammad Asif and other officers were also present on the occasion.
According to the details, each food hamper contains 10 kg atta, 2 kg sugar, 2 kg gram pulse, 2 kg Masoor pulse, 2 kg rice, 2 kg ghee, 200 gram tea, 800 gram salt, 500 gram Chilli powder and one packet of matches.
Addressing on the occasion, Pervaiz Malik and Mehr Ishtiaq said that Punjab province has always played the role of elder brother and took lead in relief activities at the time of natural calamity anywhere in the country. He said that on the direction of Chief Minister Punjab, PDMA will dispatch 30 more trucks of relief items on the next three consecutive days. Two Provincial Ministers and DG PDMA will distribute relief items among drought affectees in Thar under their supervision.
