Lahore: Punjab Minister for Law, Rana Sana Ullah Khan has directed Chairman of District Zakat Committees in seven districts of the province who discharge their duties amicably and transparently ensure marriage grant, guzara allowance, eid grant from Zakat funds to the deserving persons.
The Minister was addressing ceremony of nominating Chairman for district Zakat Committees in Sheikhupura, Lahore, Gujrat, Sahiwal, Pakpatton, Multan and Bahawalpur held at Committee Room of Punjab Assembly. Minister for Zakat & Ushr, Malik Nadeem Kamran, Minister Education & Sports Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Secretary Zakat & Ushr Capt. Retd Jahanzeb Khan, Administrator Zakat & Ushr Muhammad Yousaf were also present on the occasion.
Rana Sana Ullah nominated award to Ex-Provincial Member Assembly Naveed Anjum for Lahore, Syed Muhammad Mushtaq Hussain Shah for Sheikhupura, Ch. Tanveer Ahmed Gondal for Gujrat, Amjad Zafar for Sahiwal, Sajjad Ali for Pakpattan, Aamir Saeed Ansari for Multan and for Bahawalpur Rai Ghulam Hassan Daha.
Addressing the ceremony, Provincial Minister for Zakat & Ushr, Malik Nadeem Kamran, said called upon newly nominated chairmen to ensure provision of zakat fund to the deserving persons regardless of political affiliations. He directed new chairman to constitute zakat committee in their districts and submit report in this regard at the earliest. He said Zakat funds are a trust, which should be ensured to the deserving persons, keeping their self-respect intact. He called upon them to discharge their duties effectively and, in case of any difficulty, contact his office immediately. The minister also directed district zakat officers to extend maximum cooperation in this regard to the newly nominated chairman of district zakat committees.
