Pakistan Won the 10th South Asian Bodybuilding Championship

Lahore: Shahzad and Fahad Naseem Butt won the Mr South Asia and Junior Mr South Asia titles respectively as Pakistan, obtaining 49 points, won the South Asian Bodybuilding Championship which concluded here on Sunday.

Pakistan claimed Four Gold Medals, Eight Silver And Eight Bronze Medals to win the Bodybuilding Championship ,while Afghanistan clinched three gold medals and Nepal earned two. Pakistan claimed the first position with 49 points; Afghanistan secured second with 31 points while Nepal gained the third position with 10 points.

In the Senior Category Of The Championship in 55kg, Sujan Taman won the first position, Ghulam Abbas of Pakistan won second position while Awais (Pakistan) took the third position. Gayan Narian of Nepal was first in the 60kg category, followed by Abid Mehmood and Mujahid Hussain of Pakistan. In the 65kg class, Qurban Ali (Afghanistan) won the first position while M Imtiaz and Abdurazak of Pakistan claimed the second and third positions respectively.

Awais Sajjad of Pakistan won the title of 70kg category while Amjad Yaseen of Pakistan was second and Afghanistan’s Hunner Ahmad third. Pakistan won all the three positions of 75kgs category through Banaris Khan (first), Hafiz Umer (second) and Qaiser Mirza (third). Pakistan also won all the three in the 80kg bodyweight category. Ali Imran won first position, Zahid Khan was second and M Azeem waqas was third. Nusrat 

Ansari of Afghanistan was victorious in the 85kg category while Mazhar Iqbal and Muddassar Khalid of Pakistan were second and third respectively. In 90kg category, Shaukat Shazad won the first position, Ahmad Yaseen of Afghanistan was second and Pakistan’s Ijaz Haider clinched the third.

In the Junior Section In 70kg, Barilia of Afghanistan won the first position while in the plus 70kg category, Pakistan’s Fahad Naseem Butt won the title.

 Provincial Minister for Sports and Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan distributed trophies and certificates among the winners.

Pakistan, Neepal and Afghanistan participated in the South Asia Bodybuilding Championship which was held under the auspices of the Sports Board Punjab (SBP) in collaboration with the Pakistan Bodybuilding Federation (PBBF) under the umbrella Punjab Youth Festival (PYF).
