Job Fair concludes in Expo Centre

Minister, EducationJob, Fair ,concludes, in Expo CentreLahore: Provincial Minister for Education, Sports & Youth Affairs Punjab Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan has said that approximately six hundred thousand overseas Pakistani employees play significant role in national economic development. This meager number of expatriates does not commensurate with the actual potential our younger generation possesses. All the government agencies including National Manpower Bureau should make concerted efforts to enhance the employability of the Pakistani youth to achieve prosperity for our nation.

While addressing to the participants of Pakistan manpower promotion conference on the concluding day of “Job Fair” held under Punjab Youth Festival at Expo Centre Lahore here today, the Minister emphasized the need to impart technical training to a larger number of young technicians and directed to improve their linkage with employers network in the global market. He termed it a golden chance for technicians and other trained workers textile sector to come forward as the present regime has succeeded in obtaining GSP-Plus status from the European Union.

He said, the Punjab government has provided a platform for all the relevant firms and institutes to facilitate the job-seeking youth. He hoped that more than one lakh youngsters will get white collar jobs in result of the Job Fair.

The Minister visited the stalls of various local firms and multinational companies along with his wife Mohtarma Farhat Mashhood and minutely observed the ongoing registration process in the Job Fair.

Representatives of Pakistan skills development foundation Ali Sarfraz gave a detailed briefing to the Minister about performance of PSDF on this occasion.
