Pray for success of negotiations with Talibans : Ch Shujat Hussain

Chaudhry Shujaat Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League President and former Prime Minister Senator Chaudhry Shujat Hussain has said that he was personally praying for the success of negotiations between the govt and the Talibans but there was little hope that these would be successful, army representative should not be included in the negotiations.

The talking to media at Lahore airport on return from Islamabad this evening, Chaudhry Shujat Hussain said that it would be a very good thing if the problems were solved through negotiations with Taliban and he prayed for this as well. In response to a question he said we do not think a decision has been taken for inclusion of the army representative but this should not be done because this was a matter of Jirga and if the Jirga decides that negotiations had to be undertaken and no action then the army will be bound for not taking any actions and the army will also be left with no other option.

Asked about the negotiation with the Talibans being unconstitutional and illegal, he said they should become fully peaceful ultimately and that was why negotiations being held and they may become peaceful with the blessings of Allah. He said that statement about firing by security guard on a judge in Islamabad courts was premature. About the allegations of drinking etc in the parliament lodges, Chaudhry Shujat Hussain said it was not the question of parliamentarians being right or not, it was not the time for such things. He said lot was happening in the country and the liquor was also imported officially.
