PTI calls the first provincial council meeting on 2nd March

Lahore: President Punjab Ejaz Ch said that calling the first provincial council meeting on March2nd to be presided by the Chairman Imran Khan is a landmark ,this step by PTI is a constitutional democratic requirement where out of 36 districts of Punjab around 600 office bearers will be called upon to attend this assembly comprising of all the MPA’s of Punjab and a sizeable lame of intellectuals columnists think Tanks engineers and other people from various walks of life who will participate in the decision making of the political future of the province.

While talking to media in a press conference,Ejaz Ch said that true democracy demands that the decisions made in the assembly are made through public opinion by creating a supreme council which will have a shared vision on the problems of the province and there solutions. He said important resolutions on the major Punjab issues in Pakistan like violence against women, law and order situations, water issues and minorities’ issues.

The programme will contain a review on the performance of PTI in Punjab and its achievements so far and then a consultative session on developing the future vision and strategy for facilitating the stresses and vulnerable sectors of Punjab who despite six years of PML-N rule have suffered badly from very oppressive and discriminative policy of govt. where out of 10 crore people from Punjab hardly a few hundred thousand people living in Lahore have been blessed with the benefits of any dev in the province.

Gen. Secretary Punjab Dr. Yasmin Rashid said that the provincial council will also act as an information and communication cell between the general public, PTI office bearers, PTI parliamentary members and the media. She said that for the first time in the history a complete linkage with the public opinion the party and the assembly will take place where the maximum communicating both ways will take place to make PTI a truly democratic representative of the masses.

Gen. Secretary Punjab Dr. Yasmin Rashid explaining that the shammed democracy in political parties has been the major hindrance in bringing a true democracy in the country as well. PTI being the first party to have intra party elections is proving that it’s not just a party who’s happy on creating a tradition in party elections but is also now going one step forward by calling a meeting of its provincial council which will be the biggest consultative forum for defining the political agenda of Punjab.
