Minister for Sports
and
Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said that Pakistan’s dream of establishing World Records had now turned into a reality. “Earlier, we used to see the record making activities just on the television but now our youngsters have been creating history for the motherland and are winning appreciation from across the globe,” he said while talking to media at the Sports Board Punjab (SBP)
Gymnasium Hall. He said that the changes would be brought in code of conduct of the Sports Board Punjab to maintain the sequence of events like Punjab Youth Festival (PYF). “We will also make necessary legislation at Provincial Level so that every Government is bound to hold
such Sports Events every year,” he added.
To a query, the Minister said that the establishing World Records is not a political stunt, rather our efforts are recognised by Guinness World Record (GWR) so PYF must be given its due credit.
Speaking at the occasion, the
GWR representatives said
that they were very impressed by the discipline of the participants. “We have not witnessed such a discipline anywhere in the world.”
DG Sports Board Punjab Usman Anwar said that the opening ceremony of the Pakistan-India Punjab Games would be a memorable event on 1st March, when 60,000 youth would break the World Record of Waving Flag at the National Hockey Stadium.
