Police send rapist pastor behind the bars

Lahore High Court Complaint Cell has disposed off its notice “pastor assaulted a Christian girl” as police report has been submitted in the court of law. As the needful has been done and for the time being no further directions are required by the Cell on administrative side.

According to details, an orphan girl, 20, in search of job was trapped by a priest Shamshad. The accused cleric lured the girl with providing employment and molested her many times. He also obtained her naked pictures and videos on mobile to blackmail and keep her silent. When the girl got fed up with this prolonged “practice”, she disclosed the matter to her mother who submitted an application against the said pastor with Eminabad police.

On a press report LHC Complaint Cell took cognizance of the issue and directed District & Sessions Judge Gujranwala to probe into the incident and submit a detailed report as to the steps taken by the police along with his own comments so as to reach Lahore High Court within a week.

The said Sessions Judge reported that Eminabad police registered a case against the accused, arrested him and sent him to judicial lock up after completing the investigation. Police report u/s 173 Cr.P.C. against the culprit has also been entrusted to Mansoor Ahmad Khan, Additional District Sessions Judge, Gujranwala, where the case is under trial.
