Provincial Minister for Education, Sports and Tourism Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said that the ceremony to set world record for reciting national anthem and waving of national flag has been postponed due to problem of space as more than four lakh people had got their names registered for participation.
The Minister told that more than four lakh people registered themselves for participation in the ceremony which was scheduled for February 24 (today). He said that a large number of people are still contacting Punjab Sports Board as they consider it an honour to participate in this ceremony. He said that the government is also mindful of the fact that the gathering of such a large number of people at a ground around which three big hospitals are located in Lahore might create hurdles in the flow of traffic and problems in bringing the patients to these hospitals.
He further said that a larger site and the date of event for setting the world record of reciting national anthem and waving of the national flag will soon be decided.
