PGMI is upgrading the knowledge of doctors: Prof. Anjum Habib Vohra

Prof Anjum Habib VohraLahore: President College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan Prof. Zafar Ullah Chaudhary has said that high quality can be ensured through hard work and efforts for the continuous professional development in the medical field. He said that effective service of ailing humanity is not possible without familiarizing the modern research and technology of treatment. He said that CPSP and PGMI are playing important role for upgrading the knowledge of doctors. He said that the services of Principal Prof. Anjum Habib Vohra, cannot be ignored in ensuring important place to PGMI.

He expressed these views while addressing the inaugural session of scientific symposium on “Quality assurance by continuous professional development” at Lahore General Hospital held under the aegis of Postgraduate Medical Institute today. Later, he also witnessed the exhibition of posters based on modern research and technology in health. Principal Prof. Anjum Habib Vohra, Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal, Prof. Agha Shabbir Ali, Prof. Ghias un Nabi Tayyab, Prof. Israr Ahmed, Prof. Syed Asghar Naqi, Prof. Ahmed Salman Waris, Prof. Khalid Mahmood and Prof. Muhammad Aslam also addressed the symposium. Former deans of PGMI, faculty members and a large number of doctors all over the country were present on this occasion. Prof. Zafar Ullah Chaudhary said that continuous professional development for quality assurance is the motto of symposium and all people associated with health will have to pay full attention to the research and education for materializing this motto. Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal threw light on the services and role of CPSP for providing modern training to the doctors. He said that PGMI is also playing an important role for providing quality education and training to the doctors for the last four decades. He stressed the need for holding scientific symposia for enhancing the knowledge and professional skill of young doctors.

Earlier, addressing inaugural session Prof. Anjum Habib Vohra said that the revolution in the science and technology has also helped medical sector and latest development in medical field is the result of this technology due to which complicated operations and diagnostic tests can be carried out easily. He stressed upon young doctors to work hard and take active part in research work for meeting new challenges in medical field.
