Noted business leader Munawar Mughal has assumed the charge of Vice President of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) for the year 2014. This was announced in the 57th Annual General Meeting held at FPCCI Head Office on Wednesday.
He was elected in the annual elections of the FPCCI held in December 2013 in Karachi. Earlier he has served as president of the Islamabad Chamber and Chairman of the Founder Group while he has a long history of struggle for the rights of the business community.
Munawar Mughal is also incumbent Chairman of the Pak-Malaysia Business Forum and Chairman of the Citizens Joint Action Committee, Islamabad where he works with dedication for the welfare of business community as well as general masses.
After formally assuming charge, Mr. Mughal pledged that he would make untiring efforts to resolve all the pending issues and to contribute further towards improving the social and economic life of the business community in the country.
He called upon the Government functionaries to duly consult with the business community’s representative bodies before making a policy or taking important decisions.
Consultations would make the policies more practical and would have support from all the stakeholders, he said.
Businessmen are not consulted on important issues and decisions which has a negative impact on the moral and economic situation, the business leader remarked.
He reaffirmed commitment to cause of business community, liaison with Government and economic uplift of the country. He thanked leaders of the business community including Tariq Sayeed, SM Muneer, Iftikhar Ali Malik, Abdul Rauf and others for reposing confidence in him.
Mr. Mughal has also received different awards including gold medal conferred by the President of Pakistan for his services.
