PESA doubles security of churches for Christmas

Lahore: A meeting of the Executive Council of Pakistan Ex-Servicemen Association (PESA) was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of President of PESA Lt. Gen Ali Kuli Khan.

It carried out a review of the security arrangements at various churches and deep appreciation of the security companies involved.

In view of the larger number of worshippers expected on Christmas Day, it was decided to ask the security companies concerned to double the strength of their security guards at churches where free of cost security is being provided since the brutal attack on a church at Peshawar.

The decision was taken in view of the recent surge in attacks on places of worship and religious centres.

Members also extended greetings to the Christian community of Pakistan on this Day of Christmas. They also reaffirmed PESA’s resolve to continue its efforts towards inter-communal harmony and a better Pakistan.

The meeting was attended by Vice Admiral Ahmad Tasnim, Lt. Gen Naeem Akbar, former ambassador Salim Nawaz Gandapur, Brig Mian Mahmud, Brig. Riaz Ahmed, Brig. Masud ul Hassan, Major Farouk Hamid Khan, and others.
